PUTTING ON HOLY ARMOUR

Updated: Sep 29

To say I needed to be reminded to put on the armour of God is honestly an understatement. When God first placed SwordTruth, especially the words Holy Armour on my heart, I knew it was something significant. I didn’t have a business plan or big dreams of a brand. I just knew it would bring Him glory, and that was enough. But I didn’t realise that saying “yes” would start a journey that would change everything — especially me… a seasoned Christian. Yeah, right.

The Battle I Didn’t See Coming

Two years in, I can tell you, this journey hasn’t been easy. In fact, it’s been a steep learning curve, not just in business, but in my relationship with God. Don’t get me wrong; I am still close in my relationship with God... but it is different. It feels like God has allowed me to go through many tough circumstances to toughen me up for the journey ahead or the bigger vision He has for me to walk into.

I’ve had to confront fear like I’d never experienced before, perfectionism I didn’t even realise I still carried, relentless spiritual attacks, and moments where I honestly just wanted to quit. But here’s what I'm learning: when God is bringing us into the truths He has for us to share with others, it often happens that we experience the difficulties that enable us to equip others in how to deal with it.

Paul, for example, writing from prison and in chains, reminded the Ephesian church:

“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand...”Ephesians 6:10–11

What Holy Armour Represents

In our fast-paced lives, it’s so easy to overlook the need for putting on the Armour of God each day. Just like I wouldn’t head out without clothes, I would struggle to engage with the world without spiritual protection.

Holy Armour is more than print and fabric. It is our desire that every garment acts as a reminder, a spiritual declaration of truth. To clothe yourself in who you are in Christ:

  • Saved: Reminded that Christ’s sacrifice has saved us from our past.

  • Loved: Understanding that nothing can separate us from God's love.

  • Protected: God's armour is active protection from the enemy's schemes.

  • Equipped: Realising we have the necessary weapons to navigate life's challenges.

Wearing this armour means more than simply putting on clothes; it means actively living out righteousness, wielding the shield of faith even on tough days, and speaking God’s truths when doubt creeps in.

Equipped and Ready

If you’ve ever faced a moment where your faith was tested, you know how crucial it is to put on the armour of God. This journey of faith isn’t just for the spiritually seasoned; it’s for anyone willing to say “yes” to the call. Whether your struggle is loud or silent, public or private, or whether you’re unsure of your purpose, can I gently remind you:

You are not alone.

You are not the only one.

And you are not without help.

The truth is — God has already given you what you need:

  • Truth: Declare it over your life… daily.

  • Righteousness: Let it rule your heart.

  • Peace: Walk in it wherever you go.

  • Faith: Stand in it every day.

  • Salvation: Believe it.

  • His Word: Use it to cut through the lies.

As Paul encourages us to pray for all believers everywhere, know that we’re praying for you. If there's anything specific you'd like prayer for, we’d be honoured to stand with you.
